Regions For Fishing

For sport or sustenance, fishing is one of the world's most popular activities. Although fishing is popular throughout the world–and spectacular catches can be made in freshwater, saltwater, lake, stream or pond–deep blue or sport fishing yields are some of the most unforgettable.

Sport fishing is popular in many regions of the world. Generally speaking, waters on continental shelves nurture the most fertile sport fishing waters. Points along the west coast, especially along the shores of California; the east coast, especially along Florida; locations throughout the Gulf of Mexico; as well as Alaska, Hawaii, the Coasts of South America and Australia are all fertile grounds for a trophy catch.

Although most recreational fishermen rarely have boats in marinas worldwide, many fishing destinations are replete with charter companies that offer boats, guides, tackle, bait and the opportunity to make a catch.

Depending on location and season, anglers can expect to catch any number of species. The entire coast of Florida as well as The Keys, are also popular destinations for adventurous anglers. Florida catches can include mahi mahi, sailfish, a variety of sharks, tarpon and marlin.
